Ing. Ras A. Boateng, CFA

Chief Executive Officer,

Ing. Ras A. Boateng, CFA is a top-level professional with over 20 years of broad management  experience in insurance, fund management and investment banking. Until May 2010, Ras was the  Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) where he served as the key  architect and builder of Africa’s first successful social health insurance program. Prior to joining the NHIA, Ras had held other executive positions such as Deputy Director General (SSNIT Ghana), Vice President and Director of Investments (Hanover Investments, Inc – USA), Vice President, Debt Capital Markets (Paine Webber Inc., USA), Actuarial Associate, Group Pension & Employee Benefit Services  (Connecticut General life Insurance Company—CIGNA, USA).

Ras has an MSc. Management with concentration in finance and applied economics from  Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); BSc. Industrial Engineering & Applied Mathematics;  Post Graduate Certificate, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management from University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign.

DIASPORA PENSIONS

Background:

In our quest to secure the future of Ghanaians abroad, Pensions Alliance Trust following Ghana’s National Pensions Law (Act 766) has specifically formulated a voluntary contribution under our tier 3 with diasporas in mind.

The Ghanaian Diasporas Pension Plan is a personal pension scheme designed for Ghanaian diasporas, individuals who have emigrated from Ghana but maintain familial connections back home. Ghanaians residing overseas will receive retirement and financial security through this initiative. This enhanced product will be accessible to all Pensions Alliance Contributors with accumulated fund of GHS 50,000.00.
